Episode IV: A New Hope

2004

During the early days of my “blogging addiction”, I used to write more than once a day. It became daily and then I thought blogging every single day was too much and that I was no longer “leaving anything to the imagination”.

2005

It became every two days and then for several months during the peak of the blogging era, I wrote posts every three days. Back then, the readers were reading and commenting and posting. And then I shifted the frequency to “every four days” but later went back to “every three days”.

2006

I had my very first blog hiatus before the end of 2005 and proceeded with an “uncompromising” new blog with an entirely new format and paradigm. This one alienated most of the previous readers that only ones left to read the posts were those who could decipher a thing or two from the riddles. That was fun.

2007

I moved my blog to WordPress and to my surprise, either everyone had moved or is also planning to move to this new provider. I tried to mimic the format of my 2005 blog but “with a little mystery”. I became lazy posting and blamed the WordPress dashboard, swearing that, by next year, I’ll return to Blogger.

Roll Call

It’s been three years! We’ve all been lazy and most of us are no longer single, unlike before when everyone was (except for one or two I could recall). I don’t know the landscape of blogging today and I am definitely out of the circle.

Anyways, to celebrate this anniversary, I’d be checking out the blogs of those who have come and gone, still here, have been linked in (in chronological order) and try to tell if they are still active, dormant, or extinct:

Stolen Phone

My phone got stolen about a month ago right here in this room we are renting. I was asleep and someone made a hole in the screen of the window large enough to shove in his hand and grab the phone. Afterwards, the burglar cleverly positioned the soap containers to cover the hole. By morning, I had no idea what happened save for the fact that I felt I misplaced my phone and that I’ll be able to find it soon. More on this later…

Guitar-ing

I bought my first and only guitar back in college. Instead of asking someone to teach me, I opted to download some lessons from the internet, printed them and tried to finish one lesson each day. I gave it away a few years ago because I felt that I would not have the time to continue learning how to play it and my interests have shifted to more “blog-friendly” pursuits. More on this later…

The Big Aquarium

We used to have a very large aquarium. I think it was given to my father by his employer who needs to get rid of that thing. We’ve had goldfishes, carps, and those scavenger-like fishes who do nothing but kiss the walls of the aquarium. I used to ask my father why do fish sleep with their eyes open and also stuff like “how do we know if a fish is male or female”. More on this later…
