I’ve spent most of the day looking after the computer shop and it wasn’t so bad.
Internet Connection
The recent Taiwan earthquake wreaked havoc on Asia’s internet backbone but the question is: to what extent? The connection at the office has been more or less back to normal since last week but here, it’s still very slow. I could not properly view Google Notebook, YouTube, and my YM status (happy.new.year).
For this reason, I wasn’t able to retrieve my boomarks from my Notebook and I wasn’t able to read on PL/SQL. Also, I wasn’t able to push through with my long-running search for my thesis topic (gasp, the proposal date is so near). Anyway, it was ok since I was able to step thru some pages on the ASP.Net book I bought on my birthday (one of the gifts I bought for myself during the holidays).
Customers
For the first time I’m making friends with the customers at the computer shop.
It’s either that they’re a little friendlier today because it’s the new year or it’s that it’s on me for the same reason or another.
